Bass Straight by Peter Ratnik is a wonderfully descriptive work for Alto Saxophone and Piano. This work takes the soloist on a journey across Bass Straight, the stretch of water between Victoria and the Island of Tasmania. You can feel the choppy seas and experience the wonderful tranquility of a dead calm sea. This is a great work for your HSC/VCE solo performance.
The Orford Suite as composed by Dr Peter Ratnik for his flautist wife, Belinda. The Orford Suite is a programmatic, impressionist work depicting the natural beauty of the landscape and that of mother nature in the coastal village of Orford on the east coast of Tasmania Australia. Orford is a small coastal village traditionally known for its natural beauty, tranquillity and fishing. This work is in three movements, each depicting the living environment of Orford. Ideal work for HSC, VCE performance students.
